Forto brand is produced in Co. Roscommon using products supplied by dairy farmers in the west of Ireland.
Aurivo, along with Ornua, has launched a new brand of Enriched Milk Powder in Nigeria.
Forto powder is produced at Aurivo’s Dairy Ingredients plant in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon by using milk supplied by the Co-op’s 1,000 dairy suppliers and their families in the west and north west of Ireland.
The powder is enriched with vitamins before being exported and consumer packed in Ornua’s state-of-the-art facility in Lagos, Nigeria, which was officially opened in December 2015.
Forto is available in three formats and can be consumed directly, reconstituted into milk by adding water or stirred into hot beverages.
When it comes to exporting Enriched Milk Power, Nigeria is Aurivo’s most significant market. The Co-op is the exclusive supplier of Forto, which will be sold in Nigeria by Ornua, alongside Kerrygold Whole Milk Powder.
Commenting at the launch in Nigeria, Aaron Forde, CEO of Aurivo said:
“With the population of Africa expected to reach 2.5 billion in the future, we are committed to exploring further business opportunities for Aurivo in the region as our milk supply continues to grow strongly. Over 1,000 dairy farmers from 13 counties in Ireland supply milk to Aurivo, which in turn exports to almost 50 countries around the globe. We are proud to be here in Nigeria, showcasing our suppliers’ excellent products as the major partnerships that we have developed in the region continue to strengthen.”
