Charity of the year

The need to support and play an active role in the development and social fabric of the areas in which our Co-op operates is a clearly defined organisational objective and one which is at the heart of our business vision. Nominating a Charity of the Year each calendar year is a key part of our community values, which gives our staff, members and customers the chance to work together to support very worthy causes.

2018 Charity of the Year

Aurivo Co-operative Society is proud to support Down Syndrome Ireland in our region during 2018:

Charity of the Year

We started our Charity of the Year initiative in 2005. Since then, our staff members have organised numerous fundraising events across the region and presented over €300,000 to great causes.

Some of the charities we have supported:

  • 2017- Acquired Brain Injury Ireland
  • 2016- ISPCC Childline
  • 2015- Pieta House
  • 2014- Donegal, Galway, Mayo/Roscommon and North West Hospices
  • 2013- Special Olympics Ireland
  • 2012- Children’s Medical and Research Foundation
  • 2011- Cancer Care West
  • 2010 – Irish Autism Action
  • 2009- Cystic Fibrosis- Castlebar
  • 2008 – Alzheimer’s Society, Ballindine
  • 2005/2006/2007 – NorthWest Hospice and Mayo/ Roscommon Hospice

How our support has helped…

“This partnership between Aurivo and the Children’s Medical & Research Foundation has provided the power to change the lives of the children that attend the hospital annually and helped us deliver our promise to them to provide the very best possible care. The €50,000 raised through a combination of staff fundraising, community collections and company support surpassed even our wildest expectations and all to help Fix Crumlin and redevelop St John’s Cancer ward. Over 150 children are diagnosed with cancer annually from all over Ireland and we believe that while they already get the best possible care and treatment, they deserve the best facilities too. Connacht Gold has helped us make this vision a reality and greatly enhanced the lives of these children from our own community.”
